About Me
Manyee (Kate) Lai, CPA, MBA
After getting my B.S. degree in Business Administration from University of California, Berkeley, I started my career in public accounting serving hedge funds. Next, I worked on a corporate investigation project at a consumer product company, before I went to UC Davis to get an MBA with a focus on finance and strategy.
Post MBA, I joined a fortune 500 tech company and was eventually promoted to Principal, managing a 50+ Million annual budget for an eCommerce Department with 200+ headcounts.
I took a leave from my career and became a stay-at-home mom after I had my first child. While it was the most fulfilling time of my life, I also missed the sense of achievement from helping my business partners succeed. Around the same time, several of my connections reached out and seek accounting expertise for their startups. Eventually, they become my first clients. When I am not doing accounting for my clients, I enjoy traveling, cooking, and most of all, spending time with my husband and two rambunctious children.
As a licensed CPA since 2011, I am certified to file taxes for clients in all 50 states.
